MASTER'S STUDENTS AND ADMINISTRATION AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY
"Professor Bloch's class in negotiation was one of the best classes I took while at NYU, and made me appreciate the education that I received from the school even more. The major differential with Professor Bloch is that he provides practical negotiating skills and tactics, which he has accumulated over the years as a practitioner, and not just an academic. His knowledge and command of the negotiation process is extremely impressive, and I continue to seek his counsel today outside the classroom on matters of negotiation and dispute resolution."

"Bruce is a methodical and insightful teacher who offers an extraordinarily constructive coaching environment and a thorough framework for transactional negotiations. While his expertise covers acquisitions, joint-venture, and tenant-landlord negotiations, his techniques shine a light across the full spectrum of business and personal dealings. He not only provokes spirited debate and lively simulations among his students, but provides them with the tools necessary to advance their negotiation skills and, consequentially, their careers, to the highest levels. He does this with exceptional humor, so while his class has served me well over the years, I can also say that I thoroughly enjoyed it."

"There are moments in life when a true teacher exposes you [to] a "Eureka" moment. Bruce Bloch did that for me. He teaches his students about human behavior and we, as individuals, interact with one another. While at NYU, I was hoping to have a "light" semester and a course on negotiation seemed to fit that billing. It did and it did not- Bruce created the environment whereby we, the students, could challenge ourselves and yet it never felt like “learning”. Bruce is masterful at showing that negotiation is far more than multiple parties looking for some middle ground. His command of the course topic and his witty sense of humor made the class a great experience. It was a class that expanded my negotiating skills, but more importantly on how to interact with other people. A must take for anyone that has the opportunity. A true pleasure and incredible learning experience. Now that I teach at NYU, I hope to have a similar impact on my students."

"I comprehend much better how to interact with people and can now work to better understand what motivates people. Further, and more importantly, I learned an incredible amount about myself. ... negotiation techniques are most effective when you can have the techniques work within your personality."

"You have been a great coach, who has helped me make great decisions in the most difficult situations."
...........................
"This is all very helpful, and thus far, is far and away the best class I’ve taken in the M.S. program."

"... you should be aware that you are among our cadre of cum laude faculty."

"I wanted to thank you for the WENT [Wednesday Evening Negotiating Team] class this summer. While the course description indicates that we will learn negotiation techniques, what you taught me, and presumably the others in class, extended well beyond negotiations. I comprehend much better how to interact with people and can now work to better understand what motivates people. Further, and more importantly, I learned an incredible amount about myself. I assume that negotiation techniques are most effective when you can have the techniques work within your personality. Instead of becoming irritable during negotiations, I can effectively channel my attitude to expedite results that are advantageous to myself and the other party. Thank you for engaging me in one of the best classes that I have taken at NYU REI."
